Thanksgiving & Friendsgiving potluck sign-up sheet

A ready-to-share friendsgiving potluck menu. Pick your headcount, then let everyone choose a dish or lend a hand.

First time? How the signup sheet works
  1. As the host, choose a guest count, edit the dish list and enter your event title.
  2. Select Create my signup sheet. On the new event sheet, select Copy guest link and paste it into your group chat.
  3. Guests open that link, enter a display name and select Claim beside one open dish. For example, if Sam claims drinks, the group sees Sam next to drinks.
  4. If plans change, the guest asks the host to reopen the dish. The host uses the browser that created the sheet and can print the final list.

How many guests?

Guest count suggests a starting menu; it never locks your rows. Edited rows stay unchanged when the count changes. Large gatherings start with suggestions for up to 1,000 guests.

Add, rename or delete any row. Each contribution needs a unique name. Up to 1,000 rows per new sheet.

THE COORDINATOR’S NOTEBOOK

How to organize a friendsgiving potluck

Assign the oven before assigning the menu. Ask the turkey volunteer to plan the carving time and send guests bringing sides a separate arrival window. Put ice and leftover containers on the board so friends without kitchen space can pitch in.

A Thanksgiving menu for 12, with clear ownership

As a starting example, assign 12 main-dish portions in total, stuffing and mashed potatoes with 8 small side servings each, a vegetable side, 12 rolls and two pies. The builder offers suggested batches, not an exact catering calculation. Confirm the real yield with each cook, then edit the labels. A vegetarian main should have its own row when needed; sides alone may not make a complete meal.

Separate the turkey, gravy and oven jobs

Ask the main-dish volunteer whether they are also bringing gravy, a carving knife and a board. If not, add named rows for those items. Put the meal time and the agreed arrival time in the invitation. Give each dish that needs kitchen equipment a specific arrangement rather than promising everyone the oven.

Make Friendsgiving easier for small kitchens

Friends arriving by public transport may prefer rolls, drinks, ingredient cards or setup to a heavy tray. Offer those jobs explicitly. Assign leftover containers and a final kitchen check before adding more desserts. For a paper noticeboard or a blank PDF, use the printable maker and choose Thanksgiving.

Choose the right format

Use the online builder above when guests will claim contributions from their own devices. For a noticeboard, a blank PDF or an editable spreadsheet, use the printable potluck sheet maker. Its CSV download opens in Excel and Google Sheets; downloaded copies do not update live.

Invite the group and handle changes

Share one guest link with a clear deadline and serving time. Use the invitation examples if you need a starting message. If a guest cancels, the host reopens the contribution from the original browser. See the complete potluck checklist for the planning sequence.
